7th: We continue with probability. We will continue to practice with the counting principle and the idea or permutations. We will have a round of Who Wants to be a Millionaire for practice with probability on Wednesday.
8th: We will learn about angle relationships when a transversal crosses parallel lines. We will use our knowledge of angle relationships to solve missing angle tasks. (Make sure your student knows the definition for acute, obtuse, and right angles.)

Math Week 2-19-18 to 2-23-18
7th: We continue with probability. We will continue to practice with the counting principle. Students will also learn probability models for when multiple, overlapping outcomes satisfy the constraint.
8th: Angles! We will review concepts of supplementary and complementary angles then build to angle relationships within triangles. We will also learn about angle relationships when a transversal crosses parallel lines.

Math Week 2-12-18
7th: We continue with probability. We continue to learn about the difference between theoretical probability and experimental probability. We use arrays and tree diagrams to better understand compound probability. We investigate the counting principle. Probability test on Friday.
8th: We will continue with transformations this week. We will add dilations to our understanding of transformation. Students think about scale factor. Transformations test on Thursday.

Our Valentine’s Event
Our Valentine’s Event
Dear Students/Parents/Guardians,
Ray Student Council will be having a Valentine’s Day event to spread positivity across the school, We will be selling poems and candy bags together for one dollar. If you send your children to school with money, they will be able to purchase this bundle to give to friends at school. The more money your children are supplied with, the more items they will be able purchase. Student Council will be collecting the money and orders on Monday, February 12. We will ONLY take orders on that day! Deliveries of poems and candy will be made to students on Valentine’s Day, February 14.
Thank You,
Student CouncilSunday, February 4, 2018
Math week 2-5-18 to 2-9-18
7th: We continue with probability. We learn about the difference between theoretical probability and experimental probability. We use arrays and tree diagrams to better understand compound probability.
8th: We will continue with transformations this week. We will combine translations, rotations, and reflections to move objects. We will make some art using transformations thinking. We will add dilations to our understanding of transformation.
