Remote Learning--Ray 7th Mathematics
Mr. Albrecht
PLEASE READ HIGHLIGHTED IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR THE WEEK OF JUNE 15,2020.
- Online Meeting Schedule for our final week! We will meet Monday through Wednesday at our regularly scheduled times. On Thursday, June 18-- the last day for students--we will invite all 7th graders to one final whole 7th grade Google Meet Year-End Morning Picnic! The last day of school at Ray is usually a whole school picnic, this year we will celebrate virtually.
Classes for math on Monday, June 15 through Wednesday, June 17 will be spent doing our usual circle check-in, reviewing probability, and celebrating each class with a student made Kahoot! about the 2019-2020 school year.
- Weekly Assignments: We have been listening to student and parent feedback and we are trying to help students stay organized without feeling overwhelmed during Remote Learning. To that end, we will follow a consistent schedule of assignments. All assignments will be posted in Google Classroom. There will be 4 graded assignments each week.
- Khan Academy: NONE!
- Exit Ticket: I already assigned the question. I need students to write questions about memories from math class or just fun Ray memories for our Kahoot! on Wednesday DUE TUESDAY by noon.
- Classwork: NONE!
- Kahoot!:assigned 6-12-20 Due the Monday, June 15 by noon.
- LATE WORK: The cut-off for late, make-up, and redo assignments in Mr. Albrecht's math classes was Thursday, JUNE 11 at 11:59 p.m.
- Packets: Students and families may choose alternate packet work in place of the online teaching and learning. Please contact me at lalbrecht@cps.edu and I can put you in touch with a Ray administrator who will work with you on a packet pick-up and drop-off schedule.
- Grades: Starting Monday, 5-4-20 I will be grading and entering grades based on the CPS policy announced 4-30-20. CPS 4TH QUARTER GRADING POLICY
- Time expectations: CPS is recommending at least 180 total minutes a day for all student learning. Math is just a part of that (30 minutes to be exact). I am trying to plan with that in mind. We will check in on April 27, 2020 and see how the first two weeks went and what changes might be needed.
- Office Hours: 1:15 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. daily by appointment. Meetings via email, Google Classroom chat, or Google Hangouts chat, or JamBoard.
- Communication with students: Google Classroom, CPS email, Google Meet (whole class), Google Hangout chat
- Communication with parents/families: email, Class Dojo, blog.
