Math Week 9-17-18

7th Loyola: We learn about proportions and how to tell if a relationship is proportional. We also relate proportions to algebra by determining the constant of proportionality, k, in terms of y=kx.

7th Chicago: We learn about ratios and how to represent and model ratios. We then move to determining equivalent ratios.

8th DePaul: We practice with the rules of exponents: multiplying, dividing, negative powers, zero power, power to a power.

8th UIC: We finish with distinguishing between rational and irrational numbers. Then we practice with the rules of exponents: multiplying, dividing, negative powers, zero power, power to a power. Students will also review distributive property as it relates to algebraic expressions and equations.
